| Description:
Lake Logan
was developed in 1955 for recreational purposes. This area was
administered by the ODNR Division of Wildlife until 1964 when
jurisdiction was transferred to the ODNR Division of Parks and
Recreation. Originally known as Hocking Lake, the name was
changed to Lake Logan to reflect the Native American heritage of
this area as well as avoid confusion with the nearby Hocking
Hills State Park and
Forest. The topography includes steep hills and woodland. The
lake encompasses 333 acres at normal pool with a shoreline
length of 9.5 miles. The maximum depth at Lake Logan is 18 feet.
The headwaters area is shallow however, with depths three feet
or less. |
